I'm not religious, so technically, I don't pray.
And I don't think bargaining or skywards fist-shaking count.
You can imagine the problem then, when the need arises to say "I'll pray for you". Surely mere good vibes aren't enough? And what if they get mixed up with any indecent thought that I may be having simultaneously at the moment?
What do I do when my own words are poor emissaries of the well-wishes that crowd my heart? Fortunately I've been able to find and rely on the poetry of others to give voice to my mute passion.
The waiting I mentioned last week has ended for two events. The most important for me though, is still to come.
My dear, dear friend, you know we're sending you our love everyday.
I've been thinking all last week for a song for you during this period. Credits to snowdrop for reminding me of one of my favourites . The words may not make much sense at first, so don't think too hard about it. Its true worth is in its rendition (particularly the version by Kenny Loggins).
Once upon time, a skinny green frog strummed his banjo and sang of faith and belief in dreams.
Rainbow Connection
by Kermit
Why are there so many
songs about rainbows
and what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, they're only illusions,
Rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some chose to believe it
But I know they're wrong, wait and see...
Someday we'll find it
the Rainbow Connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me
Who said that every wish
would be heard and answered
when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that and someone believed it,
Look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing
that keeps us star gazing,
what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it
the Rainbow Connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me

Eh.. I can sing this song and Chris can sing like Kermit?? Maybe we can get him to bernyanyi one day... Love this song.. nearly had it in my wedding album... and I have it on MP3.. so cute.
Thank God I can say that I'll pray for you and mean it!!
oh, but i DO believe good thoughts and vibes work... inadequate though we are in giving voice to them.
so, to YOU, believe, and know we're sending you giant amounts of good vibes all the time.
ame - i have both versions on mp3. can transfer the kenny loggins one to you one day. too bad you're the frog in the family. or else chris can be kermit and you..miss piggy. heh. she likes to karate chop him. kesian.
snowie - good vibes work from you cos you don't have interruptive indecent thoughts mah. sigh. on a related but unrelated note, i can't look at a peanut or raisin without shaking my head. poor little guy.
there's more than 1 version? i only hv the version that sound like kermit the frog.. (frog sound.. so, that is kenny loggins verison)? :D
there's a FEW versions, actually. the frog version that you have is the original sung by kermit. the nice human version i'm referring to is by kenny loggins. i like the frog version too. though i think kermit and ernie both sound the same and i dun like ernie.
Good vibes are the support you give to the other(s) in whatever means you can afford; time, money, love, prayers( if you have faith)etc
Real friends will value any support they can get; so i should say thank you to you both.
curious about what goes thru your mind when you see a raisin or peanut...
dunno the song..sad
tigerlily - you're most welcome! kesian that the little fella can't enjoy peanuts and raisins anymore. will savour them especially more on his behalf next time i eat them :)
hey, its not a sad song...it's about believing in there being bigger things for you, despite what others may say or however pessimistic things can get.
i'll do a cd for you and mail it. :)
Hey i meant that i was sad that i do not know the song and all your commentors knew of it. thanks for clarifying and will appreciate a copy of the song but no hurry.
thank you for your friendship and all the good vibes you both have for us; must say that i was so surprised about the raisins and peanuts:))) it means A LOT to me.
don't be sad, tigerlily, i too did not know the song in my time before spot! but it's nice, and hope you'll like it when the yet-to-be-burned cd gets to you.
would it be too much to hope that the "peanut/raisin = bad" is a temporary thing?
*vibing madly to you*
