It seemed like whole civilisations rose and fell before she could even breathe again.
Numbly, she stared.
Goddamn blue line.
Fuck.
In the few seconds before the first sob came, the demons of regret broke through the walls of her lifetime’s making.
Something inside her died.
The child would never replace that part of her.
