Once upon a time there lived a girl who married a guy from a land far far away.
He kissed her and called her froggie.
Quite fortunately for him, she didn't actually transform into one. That would have been rather disturbing. Not to mention totally disgusting at bed-time.
But it did give her clever, creative, thoughtful friend (who can be the same for you! Email me!) a smashing idea for what to make for her birthday cake this year.
And so, Froggie got frog cupcakes for her birthday and she squealed happily ever after.
The End.

Had a get-together on Saturday to celebrate (belatedly) Ame's birthday, since it also coincided with one of Local Expat's occasional trips back from Miri. It's not often that we are around in one place at the same time, so there was no better time than the present.
Froggie & her prince, Goat, Mr. Goat and Bunnygoat, Supersaleswoman Kiut, the Kiutlets and Mr. Kiut, WL&Debz (friends of Ame & Local Expat), Snowie & Me stormed Local Expat's house on Saturday for nasi lemak & sambal, babi pong teh & chicken rendang. And of course, frog & flower cupcakes!
Snowie the baking queen made the cupcakes and icing...I as usual, contributed only the concept, design & construction.
I particularly like this one....I call it - "The Class Photo". See the two chatting behind there? That's exactly what Ame/Froggie would have been doing in class, particularly during Physics lab.
T's a real pity Biow (in Singapore) and WS (in Hong Kong) missed it.
Dunno about everyone else, but I find that it's these people from those days long past that I'm most comfortable being around. Mainly cos I find that I (being probably the most anti-social of them all) don't have to make any effort to actually talk very much. We are all so different in terms of personalities, life-stages, interests and priorities, yet the bond has survived long after the fading of the school bell's ring. Funny how the familiarity of a shared moment in one's history can be so powerful.
Sure there may be insecurities, petty sensitivities, disgruntled cattiness and exasperating moments. But the point, I think, is that it all would be set aside in the next breath, whenever a genuine need for support and friendship arises.
So emo.
Basically what all that means is that I had a very nice Saturday.

They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!!!!!!!
OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are those eyes made of green pastilles and sugar paste?
SO CUTE!!! WHAT NEXT!
Good gracious. You two are getting more creative.. what cute frogs!
My God!! So damn cute!!!!! Just the right shade of froggie green! And the bright blue flowery ones matches the froggies so well.
You guys get better and better. So what's next? Moo and oink cupcakes?
You are right about me squealing away happily. The frogs were just divine. They were so adorable and delicious.
Ahem! Thank goodness I do not turn to a frog at night... Marido really does not like geli things. He would jump out of bed faster than I can hop.
The class photo is so like what happened in class. I remembered once yelled at me "Hey you at the back, why are you not facing the front when I am teaching??"
Love the pix and thank you both for the great effort in making my birthday party so memorable. And to those who came! Muchas Gracias
*sob*..
wish i were there.. *sob*.. what a gathering!

Froggies! (Kermit was my Sesame Street faves)
YUM
What next? Little pink pigs?
gosh.
alright, i'm so gonna train my bf to bake me cupcakes.
Ah, so cute!
But, hmm... Left or right eye first? It's like finding a better way to start eating the gingerbreadman. (Head first, or the buttons?)
Thanks everyone. We really had fun making them.
Nut, Boobs, Erna - What's next? Yeah, we thought of piggies...but what's prolly more exciting (and better timing, given the season) are...Reindeer! :D
Strizzt - Welcome to my spot. :) Ah, for gingerbreadmen I tend to bite the head off first. THough since Shrek I'm more inclined to amputate limbs first. Heh.
Excellent thing abt the frogs are that they're small enuf to down in one undainty gulp. No need to decide.
Hedo - Failing which, ask him to order from us! Hahah. How to send to Kuching ah...?
we had a great time.....especially my kiutlets/kiutlings!
thks to local expat for allowing ian to "terrorise" her living hall
and thks to snowie & spot for making ash a very happy girl that day coz of the sugar flowers (and tar pau somemore)
oooo frog cupcakes! can you do kittens?
Hmmm...so that's what I'm called now.
Hey, no problem lar. It was great having the house full of chattering adults and squealing kids (or froggies) once in awhile.
Let's do it again!
OMG!! Talk about small world. Was bored and clicked on your archives. God, I know someone that you know. OMG. TWo degrees of separation.
kiuts - hope the kiutlets will be very happy with their cakes this weekend and next week!
lil miss d - for you? no problem. :)
Local Expat - Ya. Cos you're technically "overseas" mah.
Paul - Now you're scaring me. Cos there's only a handful of ppl I've actually named. Which makes me kinda worry you are related to me?? :P
But seeing as we're both in the closet to rellies...no need to worry eh? :)
Nah, you mentioned an obit earlier this year and I know that name!
Dead? Unconscious? Busy?
Heard you made cupcakes for my brother Paul! =P Looks awesome!
